Anadolu Efes will take on Germany's Bayern Munich in the fifth round of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on Wednesday, looking to build on its strong recent record against the German side.
The game will tip off at 8:30 p.m. local time at the Turkcell Basketball Development Center in Istanbul, where Anadolu Efes will make its second home appearance of the European season.
Both teams enter the matchup with identical records of one win and three losses. Anadolu Efes sits 15th in the standings, while Bayern Munich is 17th.
Efes has struggled on the road this season, losing to Barcelona, Red Star Belgrade and defending champion Olympiakos.
However, the Turkish team picked up its only victory at home against Real Madrid.
Wednesday's matchup will mark the 17th EuroLeague meeting between Anadolu Efes and Bayern Munich, with the Turkish club holding a 10-6 advantage in their previous 16 encounters since the 2018-19 season.
Efes has also won its last five games against Bayern Munich, giving the Istanbul side an opportunity to extend that streak in front of its home supporters.
Beyond the immediate standings, the Bayern Munich matchup will mark Anadolu Efes' 918th appearance in European club competitions.
The Istanbul club has recorded 507 victories and 410 defeats across its previous 917 European games.
Since joining the EuroLeague in the 2001-02 season, Anadolu Efes has played 669 games, winning 350 and losing 319.
Wednesday's contest will therefore be its 670th appearance in Europe's premier men's club basketball competition.
