Anadolu Efes recorded a crucial home victory in Round 27 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, defeating Lithuania’s Zalgiris Kaunas 92–82 in Istanbul.
The home side began the contest with effective perimeter shooting and edged the opening quarter 25–24. The second quarter remained closely contested, with both teams finding scoring opportunities, as Anadolu Efes went into halftime holding a narrow 47–45 advantage.
Anadolu Efes opened the third quarter with an 8–0 run, pushing the lead to double digits at 55–45. Zalgiris responded through Wright and Tubelis, while a three-point play by Lo put the visitors ahead 59–57 midway through the period. Zalgiris maintained their momentum to enter the final quarter leading 67–65.
Zalgiris extended their lead to six points early in the fourth quarter, but Anadolu Efes responded with an 11–0 run to regain control.
After Zalgiris briefly moved ahead again with back-to-back three-pointers, Anadolu Efes closed the game strongly, allowing no points in the final three minutes and eight seconds.
A 13–0 run sealed the 92–82 victory. With the win, Anadolu Efes earned their eighth EuroLeague victory of the season, while Zalgiris suffered their 12th defeat.
