Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti praised Turkish international Arda Guler on Saturday, dismissing transfer rumors about the young midfielder.
Despite limited playing time this season, Guler has impressed Ancelotti, who underscored the 20-year-old’s growing role within the squad.
“Arda Guler has developed very well. He is becoming more prominent and will be even more important in the future,” said the Italian coach. “He’s showing his quality and becoming more consistent. I believe he will become an excellent midfielder. For Real Madrid’s future, he’s crucial—there are not many midfielders at his level.”
A former Fenerbahce standout, Guler has made 37 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring four goals and providing eight assists. His current contract with the Spanish giants runs until 2029, and according to Transfermarkt, his market value stands at €45 million ($50.85 million).
Ancelotti also addressed growing speculation over his managerial position following Real Madrid’s early exit from the UEFA Champions League and underwhelming performance in La Liga.
“I have a great relationship with the club; everything is going well,” Ancelotti said. “We can’t control the news, but I can say that many of the reports are untrue.”
“Let me be clear—I’m deeply committed to my club, my players, and our fans. I will speak about my future on the 25th of the month," he added. "I don’t know what will happen, but it will be a wonderful farewell, whenever it comes. I’ve never had any conflicts during my six years here, and I won’t start on the last day—whether that’s May 25 or in 2026.”
