Arda Guler, the Real Madrid and Türkiye national team midfielder, stood out in 2025 as one of the players whose market value rose the most across world football.

By the end of the calendar year, he had not only secured a place among the top seven value risers globally but also reached a level never achieved before by a Turkish footballer.

A record-breaking rise in market value

According to figures reported by NTV Spor, Arda Guler began 2025 with an estimated market value of €45 million (around $53.1 million).

Over the course of the season, his value doubled to €90 million ($106.2 million), marking a historic benchmark for Turkish football.

This increase placed him seventh on the list of players whose market value climbed the most during the year. With this rise, Guler became the first Turkish player to cross the €90 million threshold, a development widely seen as a turning point in how Turkish talents are valued on the international stage.

Impact at Real Madrid and growing global attention

Playing for Real Madrid, one of the most globally followed football clubs, Arda Guler drew attention with his performances throughout the season.

His progress under the Spanish club’s spotlight played a central role in pushing his valuation upward and keeping him among the most closely watched young players in Europe.

While some commentary in the Spanish press suggested that the young midfielder faced fluctuations in form, his overall market trajectory in 2025 still reflected strong confidence from the football economy.

How Guler compares with other top risers

Across the global rankings, the biggest rise of the year belonged to Bayern Munich’s French winger Michael Olise. Olise increased his value by €65 million, reaching €130 million (roughly $153.4 million).

He was followed by German forward Nick Woltemade, whose value jumped by €62.5 million to €70 million (about $82.6 million), making him one of the season’s surprise breakthroughs.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha, fresh off helping his club win the UEFA Champions League for the first time, entered the top ten with a valuation of €100 million (around $118 million).

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak, whose transfer to Liverpool drew major attention, completed the top ten list.
