Fenerbahce defeated Serbia's Partizan 74-65 in Istanbul on Thursday, setting a EuroLeague single-game record with 14 blocked shots as the Turkish side secured its fifth victory of the season and completed a two-win week in Europe's top-tier basketball competition.

The hosts overturned a slow start and pulled away in the second half to claim their eighth victory over Partizan, while the Serbian side suffered its third defeat of the competition.

Fenerbahce overturns early deficit to take control

Partizan opened the game with a 6-0 run, fueled by three-pointers from Ethan Thompson and Lamar Stevens, before finishing the first quarter ahead 19-12.

Fenerbahce gradually worked its way back into contention during the second quarter, with Shane Larkin hitting the hosts' first three-pointer of the game, although Partizan maintained a narrow 28-25 halftime lead.

The momentum shifted after the break as Shavon Shields and Marcus Bingham helped Fenerbahce move ahead 31-30. Talen Horton-Tucker then stepped up as the hosts extended their advantage to 45-35, before Will Clyburn added a three-pointer to help establish a 59-44 lead heading into the final quarter.

Partizan managed to cut the deficit in the closing period, but Fenerbahce held on to secure a 74-65 victory.

Record-breaking defense

Alongside its fifth win of the season, Fenerbahce made EuroLeague history by recording 14 blocks, a defensive statistic awarded when a player legally deflects an opponent's shot attempt.

The performance established a new single-game record in the competition and rounded off a successful double-header week, during which Fenerbahce won both of its EuroLeague fixtures.

Elsewhere on Thursday, Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Valencia Basket 91-88, Dubai Basketball edged Olympia Milano 101-97, and Real Madrid beat Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne 111-92.
