Kerem Akturkoglu, the Turkish football sensation who made a high-profile transfer from Galatasaray to Portugal’s Benfica last year, celebrated a major personal milestone today. The 26-year-old winger married his longtime partner, Ceren Azak, in a wedding held in Kocaeli, Türkiye.

The couple had surprised fans and friends with their engagement in December last year. Ceren Azak works as a Child Development Specialist at the Basiskale Atlantis Special Education Center. Their wedding ceremony was held in a stylish hotel with close family and friends attending.

Kerem’s football journey: Making waves in Portugal

Kerem joined Benfica from Galatasaray last September for a transfer fee of €12 million ($13.6 million), quickly winning over supporters with his dynamic play. He made his Benfica debut in the Portuguese Primeira Liga during the fifth week against Santa Clara, scoring a goal in the 27th minute, assisted by teammate Orkun.

This season, Kerem has played 42 matches, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists across all competitions. His standout performances in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 helped Benfica advance after a thrilling 3-3 draw with Monaco, where he scored crucial goals.

On the international stage, Kerem has been a vital asset to the Türkiye national team. In the UEFA Nations League, he has featured in eight matches, scoring five goals and assisting twice. His consistent form has cemented his position as one of the team's indispensable players.
