Besiktas have agreed a €20 million deal to sign Leandro Trossard from Arsenal, with the Turkish club set to acquire one of the key figures behind the Gunners' first Premier League title in more than two decades.
The agreement consists of an €18 million base fee with up to €2 million in add-ons. Personal terms, including wages reported at around €9 million, are still being finalised, meaning the transfer is not yet complete.
The move is not expected to be formally concluded until Trossard's participation in the World Cup with Belgium comes to an end.
The 31-year-old forward is currently representing Belgium in the tournament, having started all four of his country's matches under manager Rudi Garcia. He scored twice in a 5-1 group-stage victory over New Zealand and contributed an assist in a 3-2 comeback win over Senegal in the last-32 stage. Belgium are scheduled to face the United States in a last-16 tie on Monday.
Trossard has one year remaining on his Arsenal contract. He signed revised terms in August 2025 that brought a significant pay increase but did not push his departure date beyond the existing 2027 expiry.
Trossard played a central role in Arsenal's 2025-26 Premier League title win, their first since 2004, making 50 appearances across all competitions and registering eight goals and 11 assists. He started 21 league matches, with one of his most consequential contributions coming on May 10, when his 83rd-minute goal away at West Ham helped Arsenal preserve a five-point lead over second-placed Manchester City.
His most prolific individual season came in 2023-24, when he scored 16 times across the Premier League and Champions League.
Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 for £27 million, having caught the eye during a strong first half of that season in which he scored seven goals, including a hat-trick in a 3-3 draw against Liverpool. He had come through the lower ranks of Belgian football before establishing himself in the Premier League.
In total, he made 174 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 36 goals and providing 34 assists, operating chiefly on the left flank while also filling in centrally when injuries required it.
Besiktas, one of Türkiye's most storied clubs, has in recent years pursued established European talent as the Turkish Super Lig continues to attract players from top-flight leagues across the continent.
