Following their agreement with Benfica over the signing of Türkiye international Orkun Kokcu, Besiktas have also expressed interest in fellow national team star Kerem Akturkoglu, currently at the Portuguese club.
Besiktas officials used ongoing discussions over Kokcu to inquire about Akturkoglu's availability, according to reports from beIN Sports. No formal offer has been made yet, but the club is closely monitoring the situation.
Akturkoglu, 25, featured in 53 matches for Benfica last season, contributing 16 goals and 13 assists. Despite his on-pitch success, Portuguese media report that the winger is unhappy in Lisbon and is seeking a move—largely motivated by personal reasons after recently getting married.
The player and his spouse are said to be keen on returning to Türkiye, where Akturkoglu previously starred for Galatasaray.
Benfica president Rui Costa is reportedly willing to sell the winger if the player is not fully committed. The club is said to be open to offers in the region of €20 million–€25 million ($23.4 million–$29.25 million).
While Besiktas has not made an official bid, their growing interest suggests that the club could attempt to reunite Kokcu and Akturkoglu—this time in Türkiye under the same badge.
