Argentine striker Mauro Icardi has reportedly emerged as a transfer option for Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro after failing to find a new club before the European transfer window closed.
According to TyC Sports, Atletico Mineiro is considering the 33-year-old forward, who is currently a free agent, meaning he can join a new club without a transfer fee.
Although Icardi has been brought up as a possible signing, he is reportedly not the Brazilian club's first choice at this stage.
The club is said to be prioritizing a move for Richarlison and could turn to Icardi if it is unable to bring in the Brazilian forward.
Icardi's free-agent status would allow Atletico Mineiro to move ahead without having to negotiate a transfer fee with another club.
