Besiktas continues its aggressive transfer push ahead of the new season and has now turned its attention to Fenerbahce midfielder Irfan Can Kahveci.
After securing the signings of David Jurasek, Tammy Abraham, Orkun Kokcu and nearing a deal for Kyle Walker-Peters, the Black Eagles are reportedly targeting the Turkish international as their next move.
According to journalist Gokhan Dinc, Besiktas has already contacted the player's representatives, and Kahveci is said to be open to joining the club. However, the transfer will depend on whether Fenerbahce head coach Jose Mourinho includes the player in his plans for the upcoming season. Mourinho is expected to deliver a final evaluation to the club's board soon.
If the Portuguese coach signals that Kahveci is not a key part of his system, Besiktas is prepared to make an official move immediately.
Irfan Can Kahveci, who began his professional career at Genclerbirligi, made a name for himself after his 2017 move to Basaksehir for €1.61 million ($1.87 million). His performances earned him a €7 million transfer to Fenerbahce in 2021. At his peak, his market value reached €11.5 million, and it currently stands at €7 million.
The right-sided midfielder has played a total of 438 professional matches, scoring 68 goals and delivering 62 assists. For Fenerbahce, he has made 171 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 31 assists. During his time at Basaksehir, he played in 150 matches, recording 19 goals and 16 assists.
Internationally, Kahveci has earned 41 caps with the Türkiye national team, scoring five goals.
