Crystal Palace lines up Nwaiwu as Lacroix nears Chelsea move

Crystal Palace has lined up Trabzonspor center-back Chibuike Nwaiwu as a potential replacement for Maxence Lacroix, who is expected to move to Chelsea.

The deal for Lacroix is reportedly set to be completed for €60 million ($68.31 million), with the defender expected to undergo medical examinations shortly before signing his contract with the London club.

Palace turn to Trabzonspor defender

According to The Athletic, Crystal Palace is interested in bringing in Nwaiwu, a 23-year-old Nigerian defender currently playing for Trabzonspor, a football club based in Türkiye.

The Premier League side is expected to step up its efforts to sign Nwaiwu in the coming days as it prepares for Lacroix's anticipated departure.
