Besiktas has reached a preliminary agreement with 27-year-old Fabian Reese, a versatile forward capable of playing on both wings as well as in a central striker role, according to Türkiye daily.

The player's current club, Bundesliga 2 side Hertha Berlin, is demanding 7 million euros ($7.81 million) for the transfer, with negotiations nearing completion.

Besiktas, one of the earliest clubs in Türkiye to begin summer transfer planning, has identified Reese as its top candidate for the left wing.

Eduard Graf, who recently joined Besiktas from Borussia Dortmund as Football Technical and Scouting Director, has been scouting high-potential and goal-scoring players in Germany. He selected Reese as the most suitable option for the team.

Reese, Hertha Berlin’s leading scorer, has agreed to personal terms with Besiktas. If an agreement is reached between the clubs, he will sign a 3+1-year contract and earn 2.5 million euros ($2.79 million) per season.

Transfer talks ongoing

To finalize the move, Besiktas needs to overcome Hertha Berlin’s firm stance on the transfer fee. While Reese’s current market value is around 4 million euros ($4.46 million), Hertha is holding out for 7 million euros ($7.81 million).

Besiktas officials continue negotiations in hopes of lowering the price. Head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly approved the signing.

Although Reese still has three years left on his contract, he is eager to join Besiktas and hopes an agreement will be reached soon. Given the player’s reluctance to remain in the second division, Hertha Berlin is not expected to resist strongly.
