The Besiktas Football Club announced it has signed a three-year contract with Serbian center-forward Dusan Vlahovic, running through the 2028-2029 season.
In a statement sent by Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS to Borsa Istanbul and published on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the club said the deal takes effect from the 2026–2027 season and continues "until the end of the 2028-2029 season." Vlahovic will receive a guaranteed fee of €7.5 million ($8.6 million) for each football season under the terms of the agreement.
The move comes as a free transfer, with Vlahovic's contract at Italian club Juventus having expired at the end of June, so no transfer fee is involved. The 26-year-old forward will earn a €7.5 million salary in Istanbul after an injury-affected final season in Italy.
Vlahovic, who came through the academy of Serbian club Partizan, transferred to Italian Serie A side Fiorentina in 2018. The center-forward drew attention for his performances over four seasons there before moving to Juventus in 2022 for a transfer fee of around €85 million.
In his final season with Juventus, Vlahovic played in 23 official matches, scoring 10 goals. Over his full spell in Turin, he scored 68 goals in 168 appearances across all competitions.
Supporters greeted Vlahovic upon arriving in Istanbul this week. "We want to be champions," he said on his arrival.
At Besiktas, Vlahovic is set to play alongside Belgian forward Leandro Trossard, who joined the club from Arsenal in mid-July.
Besiktas had been pursuing Vlahovic for some time before the terms were finalized, with Turkish and Italian media reporting that the two sides had agreed on all conditions in the days leading up to the signing.
