Besiktas, one of the most active clubs in the transfer window, made a surprise move in the search for a right-back by reaching an agreement with 19-year-old Taylan Bulut from Germany’s Schalke 04.

The club had previously negotiated with players like Bright Osayi-Samuel and Kyle Walker-Peters, but those transfers did not materialize. The management turned to Germany and decided to strengthen the squad with young talent.

According to an official statement from Besiktas, the plane carrying Taylan Bulut will land at Ataturk Airport’s General Aviation Terminal today at 5:15 p.m. Following medical checks, the young player will sign his official contract.

Born in 2003, Bulut came through Schalke’s youth system and has played for the senior team over the last two seasons. He has also represented Germany’s U21 national team. Known for both defensive discipline and attacking contributions, the transfer has the approval of Besiktas manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst and aligns with the club’s long-term youth-focused squad strategy.

The transfer fee is reported to be approximately €6 million ($7 million), and Bulut is expected to sign a four-year contract.

Besiktas fans welcomed the transfer enthusiastically on social media, and many are eager to see how Bulut will perform in the Super Lig. He is expected to compete with Valentin Rosier for a starting spot and gradually secure a place in the first 11.

With the addition of young talents like Taylan Bulut, Besiktas aims to achieve both sporting success and financial sustainability. His arrival is considered a key part of this strategic approach.
