Türkiye's men's national volleyball team meets France on Saturday in its second Group D match at the 2026 CEV European Championship.
The match is scheduled for 17:00 local time at the BT Arena, an indoor venue with a capacity of about 10,000 located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania's second-largest city, in the country's Transylvania region.
Türkiye opened the tournament with a 3-1 loss to Germany. France began its campaign with a 3-0 win over Switzerland.
Group D also includes Latvia and host nation Romania, making it a six-team pool. The 2026 European Championship brings together 24 national teams split into four pools of six, with matches held across Italy, Bulgaria, Finland and Romania between Sept. 9 and 26. The top four teams in each pool advance to the Round of 16, with the semifinals and medal matches staged in Italy.
The two sides met earlier this year in the Nations League, where Türkiye defeated France 3-0. France is the reigning Olympic champion, having won gold at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Games.
In the FIVB world rankings, France is ranked eighth and Türkiye 10th.
Saturday's match marks the first of three consecutive days of competition for the Turkish team. After facing France, Türkiye plays Switzerland on Sunday and host nation Romania on Monday. The team closes its group stage schedule against Latvia on September 16.
Türkiye's best finish at the European Championship came in 2021, when the team placed 10th.
