Young Turkish striker Semih Kilicsoy is close to joining Cagliari from Besiktas. The Italian club is working on a loan deal with a €12 million ($14.08 million) option to buy.
Dutch side Utrecht had recently made a loan offer for Semih Kilicsoy, which included a €10 million buy-out clause, but Besiktas declined the proposal. The Turkish club stood firm on their demand for a €15 million purchase condition, leading Utrecht to withdraw from negotiations.
Following Utrecht’s exit from talks, Cagliari made a move of their own, putting forward a new offer with a €12 million buy option. As of now, Besiktas has yet to provide a definitive response to the Italian club’s proposal.
Struggling to secure a place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans, Semih Kilicsoy is said to be interested in joining Cagliari, seeing it as a good opportunity to play consistently and improve his game. He had also viewed Utrecht’s previous offer positively for the same reasons.
Besiktas is expected to respond to Cagliari’s offer only after completing their UEFA Europa League fixtures against Shakhtar Donetsk. Should Semih Kilicsoy continue to push for the transfer, the club may approve the move by agreeing to the €12 million purchase clause proposed by the Italian side.
Despite his young age of 19, Semih has already built up significant experience at the senior level, having played in 85 matches for Besiktas, where he registered 16 goals and 9 assists.
