Serie A club Bologna has officially announced the appointment of Domenico Tedesco as their new head coach, following the departure of Vincenzo Italiano.
The 40-year-old Italian-German tactician has signed a contract until June 2028, with an option for an additional year, according to the club’s official statement.
He replaces Vincenzo Italiano, who left Bologna last week by mutual agreement after completing two years in charge.
Tedesco arrives in Italy after most recently managing Fenerbahce, where he spent less than a full season before his departure in April 2026. The former Belgium national team coach has built a coaching career across several countries, including Germany, Russia and Türkiye. He previously managed Schalke 04, Spartak Moscow and RB Leipzig, where he won the DFB-Pokal in 2022.
Bologna FC 1909 finished the previous Serie A season in eighth place with 56 points and also reached the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals under Italiano.
