Turkish second-tier club Sivasspor announced legal action against Brazilian forward Luan Campos after the 23-year-old player departed the team's facilities without authorization late Tuesday night, with social media posts indicating he traveled directly to Brazil.

The Trendyol 1. Lig side released a statement Wednesday confirming that Campos left without providing any explanation or responding to club officials' attempts to contact him. An Instagram story posted around 2 a.m. Brazilian time showed the player's location tagged at Guarulhos International Airport in Sao Paulo, with a family member posting that they were waiting for the striker arriving from Türkiye.

According to the club, an individual claiming to represent the player subsequently sent an improper notification declaring the contract terminated, though the person was not Campos' legal representative.

Club demands formal termination notice

Ozbelsan Sivasspor stated it is awaiting a proper contract termination notice from the player before proceeding with legal measures. The club emphasized it would pursue action against Campos for wrongful termination without just cause before the appropriate authorities.

"As Ozbelsan Sivasspor, protecting our club's rights and defending our community's interests at the highest level is our fundamental priority," the club said in its statement, adding that it would continue to act in accordance with its institutional structure and professional principles.

Campos joined Sivasspor last summer from America MG, a Brazilian second-division club. During his short spell with the Turkish side, the winger appeared in 11 matches across all competitions, recording one goal and one assist.

Professional football contracts typically contain specific termination clauses that outline the conditions under which either party may end the agreement. Players who terminate contracts without just cause can face sanctions from governing bodies, including transfer bans and financial compensation requirements. Clubs similarly face consequences for wrongful termination of player contracts, with disputes often resolved through football's governing bodies or civil courts.
