Colo Colo sign Cape Verde's World Cup breakout goalkeeper Vozinha

Chilean club Colo Colo have signed veteran Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha following his standout performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The club announced that the 40-year-old had passed his medical examinations and put pen to paper on an official contract.

World Cup displays lift Vozinha into spotlight

Vozinha played a key role in helping Cape Verde move beyond the World Cup group stage, drawing attention with a series of saves during the tournament.

His growing popularity also carried over to social media. The Instagram following of the goalkeeper, whose full name is Josimar Jose Evora Dias, reportedly rose from around 50,000 to nearly 30 million during the period leading up to the tournament.

Veteran goalkeeper brings international experience

Vozinha has built up experience across several countries outside Cape Verde, including Angola, Moldova, Portugal, Cyprus and Slovakia.

During his career, he has turned out for clubs including Zimbru, Gil Vicente, AEL Limassol and Trencin, while his most recent team was Chaves.
