Fenerbahce has reopened negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur over the transfer of South Korean forward Heung Min Son. Despite having a contract with the English club, the 32-year-old player has decided to leave after 10 seasons and is now on Fenerbahce’s radar.
Last season, Fenerbahce made significant efforts to sign Son, and this time they are determined to complete the deal. A major advantage for Fenerbahce is Son’s close relationship with manager Jose Mourinho, whom he wants to work with again.
Son’s market value is estimated at around €20 million ($23,03 million), while Fenerbahce’s initial offer to Tottenham is reportedly €12 million . However, Spanish media reports that due to sponsorship deals in East Asia, Tottenham is demanding a transfer fee close to €30 million.
During his time under former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, Son made 70 appearances, netting 29 goals and providing 25 assists. He also delivered one of his most memorable performances in that period, scoring four times in a 5-2 win over Southampton in 2020—his first Premier League hat-trick.
Last season, Son featured in 46 matches across all competitions for Tottenham, scoring 11 goals and providing 12 assists.
