Fenerbahce Tarfin claimed their third FIBA SuperCup Women title after defeating CIMSA CBK Mersin 79-71 on Wednesday, becoming only the second club to win the competition three times.

The Istanbul-based side, reigning champions of EuroLeague Women, Europe's top-tier women's club basketball competition, added another trophy to their collection after previously winning the SuperCup in 2023 and 2024.

Belgian star Emma Meesseman was named Final MVP (Most Valuable Player) after finishing with 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, while Olcay Cakir Turgut led Fenerbahce's scoring with 16 points.

Fenerbahce takes control after tight opening half

Mersin, who entered the competition as reigning EuroCup Women champions and was making its SuperCup debut, got off to a stronger start on home court and edged the opening quarter 21-19.

Although the teams remained level at 28-28 midway through the second quarter, Fenerbahce gradually took control and went into halftime leading 38-32.

The Yellow Canaries built on that advantage after the break, stretching their lead to 59-48 by the end of the third quarter before pulling further ahead at 67-50 early in the fourth.

Mersin fights back but Fenerbahce hold on for historic victory

Despite falling 17 points behind, Mersin mounted a late comeback and cut the deficit to six points with just 19 seconds remaining.

Fenerbahce, however, held their nerve at the free-throw line to close out the 79-71 victory and secure their third SuperCup Women crown.

For Mersin, Carla Leite led the scoring with 17 points and five assists, while Kennedy Burke contributed 14 points and Kariata Diaby added 12 points and eight rebounds.

The result saw Fenerbahce become only the second club in the competition's history to win the trophy three times.
