Fenerbahce has reportedly stepped up its efforts to strengthen the squad with a loan offer for Real Madrid's 25-year-old Spanish midfielder Brahim Diaz, according to Turkish media.
According to the reports, the move follows a direct request from head coach Jose Mourinho, who reportedly sees Diaz as a creative link between midfield and attack—a profile the Portuguese manager has been seeking to add to the squad.
Fenerbahce’s management is preparing to open talks with Real Madrid in the coming days.
Sources familiar with the situation told Turkish news outlet hurriyet.com.tr that various transfer models are being assessed, with a loan agreement considered the most viable.
Diaz, who has found it difficult to secure regular minutes in Real Madrid’s star-studded lineup, is said to be open to joining a club where he can feature more prominently.
In the 2023–24 season, he started 16 matches in La Liga and made four starts in the UEFA Champions League.
After widespread news coverage by the Turkish media, Fenerbahce fans have launched a mass social media campaign to encourage the transfer.
The club’s supporters have left over 100,000 comments on Diaz’s latest Instagram post, many of them calling on him to “Come to Fenerbahce.”
The phrase is commonly used by Turkish fans during transfer seasons, as many of them post it on the social media accounts of well-known players whose clubs are rumored to be negotiating with them to express their desire for the transfer.
Brahim Diaz has made 121 appearances for Real Madrid, recording 20 goals and 20 assists.
He previously played for Manchester City in the English Premier League and had a loan spell with Italian side AC Milan, gaining experience in three of Europe’s top leagues.
With a current market value of €40 million, Diaz is viewed by Fenerbahce’s technical staff as a player who could make an immediate impact.
Mourinho is reported to admire his tactical intelligence and ability to connect midfield with the front line.
