Fenerbahce has turned its attention to Serhou Guirassy after reaching an agreement for Vedat Muriqi, with the Istanbul club preparing a major financial package for the Borussia Dortmund striker.
According to the Turkish media reports, the yellow-navy side has made signing two strikers and two center-backs its transfer priority.
After moving ahead with Muriqi, who had been linked with a deal from Mallorca, Fenerbahce is now focusing on Guirassy as its next attacking target.
During the election period, President Aziz Yildirim had reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for Guirassy at a transfer fee of €40 million ($46.36 million).
After receiving signing authority, the Fenerbahce management began working to bring that fee down. The club is now said to be aiming to close out the transfer at around €35 million.
Fenerbahce's football committee, which has traveled abroad for talks, is expected to meet Guirassy and his brother, who also represents him, face-to-face.
The club aims to shake hands with the 30-year-old Guinea striker and move the transfer process into its final stage. The report also said Aston Villa, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are interested in Guirassy.
Fenerbahce has reportedly offered Guirassy a three-year contract worth €10 million per year. The report said this is the best offer made to the player so far.
If Guirassy accepts the proposal, Fenerbahce is expected to look for common ground with Borussia Dortmund over the transfer fee and move to finalize the deal.
