Fenerbahce Spor Kulubu will elect a new president on Sunday during a special general assembly.

Members can vote between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at ballot stations set up at Kenan Evren High School, next to Chobani Stadium.

There are two candidates for president: former club president Aziz Yildirim and challenger Hakan Safi.

Out of 44,741 eligible members, about 30,000 are expected to vote. The results should be announced later today after the counting is finished.

Voter turnout in Fenerbahce elections has increased in recent years. In 2018, 21,350 members voted. That number rose to 27,489 in 2024 and then fell to 24,732 in 2025.

Candidates make final pitches

Both candidates addressed members during the first session of the general assembly, presenting their final arguments before the vote.

Safi, who spoke first, listed several promises if he becomes president. He said deals have been made with three players: Luis Suarez, Merih Demiral, and Greenwood. He also announced plans to expand the stadium to hold 64,500 people.

Safi added that he would seek official recognition for club titles from before 1959 and said he plans to buy a club in another country.

Yildirim, who served as president for many years, talked about the club's past successes. He said Fenerbahce's path is guided by its members and fans and promised the club will keep fighting for championships.

Yildirim also disagreed with his opponent's focus on player transfers, saying that naming players to win votes runs counter to his values.
