Türkiye’s sole representative in the UEFA Champions League, Galatasaray, learned its group stage opponents on Thursday. The yellow-red team was drawn against Liverpool, Manchester City, Eintracht Frankfurt, Atletico Madrid, Bodo/Glimt, Ajax, Monaco, and Union Saint-Gilloise.
The Istanbul club will host Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Bodo/Glimt, and Union SG at home, while playing Manchester City, Eintracht Frankfurt, Ajax, and Monaco away.
This season marks the second time UEFA is using the new 36-team league format, introduced last year. Each team will play eight matches in the league stage, four at home and four away.
After the league stage, the top eight teams advance directly to the Round of 16. Teams ranked ninth through 24th will compete in two-legged playoffs to qualify for the Round of 16, while the remaining clubs will be eliminated.
The league stage fixture list will be announced no later than Saturday, Aug. 30. Matches for the first week are scheduled from Sept. 16-18, with the league stage concluding Jan. 28, 2026.
This season's Champions League final will take place in Hungarian capital Budapest on May 30 next year, with UEFA announcing on Thursday that the game will kick off at 6:00 pm local time rather than the usual 9:00 pm.
