Galatasaray will face Norway’s Bodo/Glimt on Wednesday in the third week of the UEFA Champions League, with kickoff set for 7.45 p.m. local time (GMT+3) at Istanbul’s RAMS Park.

The match will be officiated by English referee Michael Oliver, assisted by Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring. The Turkish champions have been unbeaten in their last 29 official home matches since losing 1–0 to Switzerland’s Young Boys in last season’s playoff round of the same tournament.

Bodo meets Galatasaray in its 1st Champions League campaign

Entering the Champions League directly at the 36-team league stage, Galatasaray suffered a heavy 5–1 defeat against Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt in their opening away fixture. However, they bounced back in the second week by defeating England’s Liverpool 1–0 at home, regaining momentum in Group A.

With three points collected, Galatasaray currently sits 21st in the overall standings ahead of the third week.

Bodo/Glimt, the reigning champions of Norway’s top division, entered the competition from the playoff round, where they advanced past Austria’s Sturm Graz with an aggregate score of 6–2. Making their debut in the Champions League’s main stage, the Norwegian side drew 2–2 against both Slavia Prague and Tottenham Hotspur in their first two matches.

A Galatasaray victory would hand Bodo/Glimt the first Champions League defeat in the club’s history. The Norwegians currently rank 24th in the standings with two points.

Injury setback for Galatasaray, travel woes for Bodo

Galatasaray will be without right-back Wilfried Singo, who sustained a left hamstring injury during the domestic league derby against Besiktas earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Bodo/Glimt has struggled away from home in European competitions. The club has failed to win any of its last eight away matches, recording six defeats and two draws. Their most recent away victory came last season against Portugal’s Braga in the UEFA Europa League group stage.

Despite reaching the Europa League semifinals last season, the Norwegian champions have suffered five defeats in their last nine European appearances.
