Galatasaray has launched an aggressive campaign to keep Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, one of the key players behind the club’s Super Lig title-winning campaign.
According to local reports, the Istanbul side has offered Osimhen a lucrative new contract that could make it difficult for rival European clubs to compete.
Osimhen played a pivotal role in securing Galatasaray’s 23rd league title and their long-coveted fifth star.
After the final match of the season, manager Okan Buruk indicated that the forward had not bid farewell to his teammates, suggesting that his chances of staying were “51%.”
Citing Turkish outlet Sozcu, Galatasaray has reportedly offered Osimhen a new deal exceeding 20 million euros ($22.86 million) annually, including performance-related bonuses.
This package reportedly surpasses offers from several European clubs, giving Galatasaray a potential negotiating advantage.
Despite reported interest from Saudi Arabian clubs Neom and Al Hilal—rumored to have offered salaries as high as €45 million ($51.42 million)—Osimhen is said to prefer staying in Europe.
Negotiations with Napoli, Osimhen’s parent club, have also reportedly progressed. The Serie A side has agreed to lower the asking price to €66 million ($75.42 million), payable in three installments.
There are no reported issues between the two clubs regarding the transfer terms.
As Galatasaray prepares for a new season with domestic and European ambitions, securing Osimhen could be a defining move in their summer transfer window.
