Galatasaray’s striker Victor Osimhen has etched his name into the club’s history. Scoring twice against Trabzonspor, the Nigerian star raised his tally to 35 goals this season, surpassing the legendary Mario Jardel, who held the previous record with 34 goals. Osimhen now holds the record for the most goals scored by a foreign player in a single season for Galatasaray.
Of his 35 goals, 24 came in the Super Lig, five in the Türkiye Kupasi (Turkish Cup), and six in UEFA Europa League matches.
Goalkeeper Fernando Muslera is also nearing a historic milestone. Though he remained on the bench during the latest match, the Uruguayan secured the 18th trophy of his Galatasaray career, equalling the tally of club legend Bulent Korkmaz.
With a league title this weekend, Muslera is set to become the most decorated player in Turkish football history. Galatasaray needs just one point in their upcoming home match against Kayserispor to officially secure the Super Lig championship.
