After finalizing the transfer of Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Galatasaray reportedly has Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-Jae among the candidates for the left center-back position, according to Turkish media.

However, Galatasaray's primary target for the center-back position remains Manuel Akanji, a player for Manchester United. Akanji, 29, previously played for Basel and Borussia Dortmund. The Swiss defender won the 2023 UEFA Champions League title and the 2023 English Super Cup, as well as the English Premier League titles in 2023 and 2024, all with Manchester City.

Loan offer to be submitted for Bayern Munich's S. Korean defender

According to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, Galatasaray has inquired about the conditions for acquiring a successful center-back from Bayern Munich.

If the club gives the green light to negotiate over Kim Min-Jae, the parties will sit down at the table.

Since Galatasaray will be taking on a significant financial burden with the Osimhen transfer, the plan is to offer a loan deal with a purchase option.

Kim Min-Jae played for Fenerbahce

Although the transfer seems difficult, Galatasaray is determined to push its limits. Kim Min-Jae previously played in the Turkish league with Fenerbahce for one year during the 2021-22 football season. At the end of that season, the South Korean defender moved to Napoli for €19 million.

Kim moved to Fenerbahce in August 2021 from the Chinese club Beijing Guoan. He scored one goal in 39 appearances for Fenerbahce, and also piled up 40 international caps for South Korea.

The South Korean international appears to be out of favor with Bayern Munich, and the German team is rumored to be in contact with multiple football teams on Min-Jae's transfer.
