Mauro Icardi has been drawn into a legal dispute over a luxury villa he previously rented in Istanbul’s Gokturk district, following disagreements related to the early termination of his lease agreement, Sabah reported.
According to the report, the annual rental value of the property was set at approximately $504,000 (₺23.33 million). The dispute emerged after the player allegedly vacated the property four months before the expiration of his one-year lease agreement.
Following the early termination of the lease, the property owner requested payment of the remaining four months’ rent, amounting to approximately $168,000, arguing that the contractual terms require full payment for the agreed-upon rental period.
The landlord’s company subsequently initiated enforcement proceedings to recover the outstanding amount. Icardi objected to the enforcement action, moving the high-profile financial dispute into the court system.
The case has been filed with the Istanbul Civil Court of Peace, which has accepted the petition. A hearing is expected to be scheduled in the coming days.
