Galatasaray midfielder Lucas Torreira has reportedly decided to terminate his contract with the Istanbul club, with claims suggesting that the move stems from dissatisfaction over the support he received after being physically assaulted.
Argentine journalist Nico Cassaretto reported that Torreira, who played an important role in Galatasaray's last four championship-winning campaigns, has made up his mind to end his agreement with the club.
According to the report, Torreira was attacked in a physical confrontation several months ago and later felt that Galatasaray had not provided him with sufficient support following the incident, eventually prompting him to consider leaving the team.
Further claims surrounding the case suggested that the individual accused of attacking Torreira was released and subsequently assaulted the experienced midfielder's driver.
The latest claim comes after Torreira publicly spoke about his future in recent months and expressed his desire to play for Boca Juniors.
