Portuguese midfielder Gedson Fernandes has ended his tenure with Besiktas by signing with Russian Premier League club Spartak Moscow, the Turkish club announced through the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).
Besiktas acquired the remaining 50% of Fernandes’ rights from Benfica for €10 million ($11.52 million). The agreement with Spartak includes a guaranteed fee of €20 million plus up to €5 million in bonuses, totaling €25 million.
The player signed a four-year contract with Spartak, earning an annual salary of €2.5 million plus bonuses up to €2 million. Fernandes featured in 131 official matches for Besiktas, scoring 18 goals and providing 16 assists. He was part of the squad that won the Türkiye Cup and the Turkish Super Cup.
Although English club Nottingham Forest and Portugal’s Porto showed interest, Spartak Moscow made the highest bid, securing the transfer after Fernandes completed medical examinations in Moscow.
