Turkish billiards player Serdar Gumus won a bronze medal at the Artistic Billiards World Championship, which took place at the Türkiye Billiards Federation facilities in Ankara.

The tournament featured 32 athletes from 10 countries, and Türkiye was represented by a team of eight players.

Gumus moved through the tournament by beating two German players in a row, Sven Goppinger in the round of 16 and Thomas Ahrens in the quarter-finals. He was stopped in the semi-finals by Dutch player Benny Smits.

Since he did not reach the final, Gumus finished in third place and shared the bronze medal with Dutch player Jop de Jong.

In the final, Smits won the world title, and Kevin Tran of France took the silver medal.

Of the other Turkish players, Haci Arap Yaman reached the quarter-finals before being eliminated.

Türkiye’s team of eight performed well during the championship, and Gumus’s bronze was the team’s best result.
