Juventus secured a 2-1 victory over Cagliari in the 13th round of the Serie A on Nov. 29, with Turkish player Kenan Yildiz scoring both goals to deliver the win for the home side at Allianz Stadium. The result lifts Juventus to 23 points in the league and ends a two-match winless streak.
Yildiz’s performance was historic, as he surpassed club legend Alessandro Del Piero, becoming the youngest player in Juventus history to reach the 20-goal mark for the senior team. The milestone has garnered widespread attention in the Italian press.
Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti praised the young midfielder, stating:
“Kenan Yıldız is a champion. He possesses the qualities of a classic No. 10 and the ability to score match-winning goals.
Our system allows him freedom to approach the goal, and he knows how to make the right decisions in tight spaces. He still needs to develop aspects of his game, but he is already a top-level player.”
Italian media outlets echoed Spalletti’s sentiments. La Gazzetta dello Sport described Yildiz as “in top form, possessing everything Juventus needs: a No. 10, a winger, and even a striker when required.”
Tuttosport wrote that Yildiz “continues to dazzle, proving to be the driving force behind Juventus’ victory against Cagliari.” Corriere dello Sport and Sky Sports Italy also lauded his performance, emphasizing the quality of both goals.
