Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz risks missing Türkiye's opening UEFA Nations League matches after suffering an incomplete fracture in his left foot, according to Italian media reports.
The 21-year-old felt pain in his foot following Juventus' 1-0 away win over Frosinone in the Serie A season opener on Sunday, having been substituted in the 69th minute for Jeremie Boga. He was subsequently taken to the J Medical center in Turin, where scans confirmed the fracture.
Italian outlet Tuttosport reported that Juventus is considering surgery for Yildiz, with recovery estimates ranging from two to three months, depending on the source.
Dr. Fabrizio Tencone, director of Turin's Isokinetic center, described the injury as delicate for a player whose game relies on sprinting and frequent changes of direction.
"It is certainly a delicate injury for a footballer often required to sprint, make quick bursts and put strain on his joints, especially with frequent changes of direction," Tencone said.
On the treatment approach for such injuries, he added: "Surgery is often used to ensure a full recovery, not so much to shorten recovery time, but for the effectiveness and quality of the return."
A prolonged absence could see Yildiz miss Türkiye's UEFA Nations League matches against France on Sept. 25, Italy on Sept. 28, and Belgium on Oct. 2.
The injury is also reported to affect Juventus' squad planning, with the club said to be accelerating talks for forward Joshua Zirkzee and reconsidering the future of Nico Gonzalez, while Boga and new signing Kerim Alajbegovic remain options to fill Yildiz's position in the meantime.
Yildiz has made 132 appearances for Juventus since joining in 2023, scoring 27 goals. He has 31 caps for Türkiye's national team with five goals and was part of the squad that failed to advance from the group stage at the 2026 World Cup.
