Football legend Lionel Messi, currently playing for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer (MLS), could be set for a sensational transfer to Saudi Arabia, according to reports emerging from both Saudi and European sources.

A stunning move on horizon?

Messi joined Inter Miami in 2023 after departing Paris Saint-Germain, making headlines around the globe with his unexpected move to the United States. His current contract with the Florida-based club runs until December 2025. However, speculation is mounting that the Argentine superstar could leave MLS before then.

Reports from Saudi media suggest that discussions have already begun between Messi’s representatives and the Saudi Pro League, possibly paving the way for one of the most high-profile transfers in football history.

Backstage talks with PIF involvement

According to Italian journalist Filippo Biafora, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) is actively working to bring Messi to the region in the upcoming summer transfer window. Though no specific club names have been confirmed, sources claim that Messi is seriously considering the offers.

The move is being viewed as another major push by Saudi football authorities to cement the kingdom’s place as a new hub for elite-level football.

Ronaldo reunion on cards?

Adding to the excitement, Cristiano Ronaldo recently renewed his deal with Al Nassr. The prospect of Messi and Ronaldo competing—or even playing together—in the same league has ignited global interest.

Fans and pundits alike are now speculating whether the two greatest players of their generation could soon reunite in the Saudi Pro League, potentially as teammates for the first time.
