Former Besiktas player Kenan Karaman has revealed that a powerful shot by Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi during training once struck a police car parked outside the club's facilities, breaking its window and leaving teammates stunned.
Karaman, who currently plays for German club Schalke, shared the previously untold incident during an appearance on HT Spor, recalling his time alongside Batshuayi at Istanbul-based Besiktas.
According to Karaman, the incident took place during a shooting drill when Batshuayi struck the ball so hard that it flew beyond the training facilities.
The players initially carried on with their session, unaware that the ball had hit a police vehicle outside the grounds.
Karaman explained that the team only discovered what had happened after training ended, when they noticed police officers arriving at the facilities. They subsequently learned that Batshuayi's shot had struck the vehicle and shattered a window.
Recalling the team's reaction, Karaman said the players were initially shocked before breaking into laughter over the unusual incident.
He added that teammates jokingly told Batshuayi that the police had come to take him away because of the damage.
The former Besiktas player shared the story years after the incident, offering a glimpse into an unexpected moment during the Belgian striker's time at the Turkish club.
