Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming documentary about Jose Mourinho, but the absence of any footage from his time at Fenerbahce has quickly become one of the main talking points surrounding the production.
The documentary, which will be released on Aug. 11, looks back on the Portuguese manager's career and the achievements that turned him into one of the most successful coaches in world football.
Although the trailer brings together footage from several stages of Mourinho's career, including his spells at Porto, Chelsea, Inter and Real Madrid, it does not show any scenes connected to Fenerbahce.
The production will also feature exclusive interviews with several prominent figures who worked with or came up against Mourinho during his career.
Sir Alex Ferguson, John Terry, Iker Casillas, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Didier Drogba, Marcelo, Samuel Eto'o, Javier Zanetti, Frank Lampard and Petr Cech are among the football personalities appearing in the documentary.
Some of the comments included in the trailer focus on Mourinho's ability to bring players together and convince them to follow his approach.
Terry describes Mourinho as a manager who inspired exceptional loyalty among his players, while Hazard emphasizes his strong reputation for delivering success.
Despite covering several important chapters of Mourinho's career, the trailer does not include any material from his spell at Fenerbahce, the club associated with the yellow-and-navy colors.
The omission has drawn attention from football supporters on social media, particularly because the preview moves through multiple stages of the Portuguese coach's professional journey.
It remains unclear whether the Fenerbahce period has been left out of the documentary entirely or whether it simply does not appear in the initial trailer.
The full scope of the production will become clear when the documentary arrives on Netflix on Aug. 11.
