The 38th Traditional Off-Road Festival came to an end in the Gumusova district of Duzce, a province in northwestern Türkiye, with a speed stage that brought together drivers from across the country.
Organized with the support of the Duzce Safari Off-Road Club (DUSOF) and the Gumusova Municipality, the event drew 77 vehicles and 154 athletes from various provinces of Türkiye.
The festival began on Oct. 29 with a caravan and tent camp set up in the area, which hosted adrenaline enthusiasts from Duzce and neighboring provinces.
On the second day of the races, 60 vehicles took to the track for the speed stage, the competitive part of the event in which drivers race through the course.
Together with their co-drivers, 120 athletes tried to get their vehicles through the muddy and rugged sections of the course.
Some vehicles overturned on the steep slopes, which tested the drivers and their machines throughout the stage.
Water pits also hosted fierce competition in the speed stage, where athletes fought to keep their vehicles from getting stuck in the mud.
Off-road racing is a motorsport in which specially equipped vehicles compete on unpaved terrain such as mud, rocks and steep hills, and the Duzce festival is held as a traditional event within this discipline.
