Turkish Olympic shooter Yusuf Dikec, who became a global sensation for his relaxed shooting style at the Paris 2024 Games, has signed a long-term cooperation agreement with domestic firearms manufacturer Derya Arms, bringing more than 25 years of professional sporting experience into the company's product development work.
Dikec won a silver medal alongside Sevval Ilayda Tarhan in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event at Paris 2024. His unusually relaxed appearance during competition, including shooting without specialized eyewear or ear protection, drew widespread attention on social media.
Under the agreement, Dikec will contribute his experience as a professional athlete to Derya Arms' work on sporting use, performance and user experience.
His observations and evaluations are expected to feed into the development of new products, while the company's engineering, design, research and development, and manufacturing processes will continue to be carried out by its own technical teams.
In announcing the partnership, the company said: "Yusuf Dikec will contribute to Derya Arms' sporting use and performance studies through his perspective as a professional athlete, user experience and international expertise."
The partnership was announced at an event where Derya Arms also presented products aimed at both sport shooting and defense technologies.
Among the products highlighted by the company was an anti-drone rifle developed for use against unmanned aerial vehicles.
Through his new role, Dikec is expected to bring the practical experience he gained in international competitions into efforts to develop domestically produced equipment.
