Businessman and prominent Fenerbahce personality Sadettin Saran has officially declared his candidacy for the club’s presidency. He made it clear that he rejects any attempt to unseat elected executives by collecting signatures, confirming he didn’t engage in that movement. Instead, he stated that he will run at the next regularly scheduled general assembly.
This announcement brings a major update to Fenerbahce Sports Club. Saran confirmed he will stand as a presidential candidate at the Ordinary General Assembly set for September.
Sadettin Saran, is a Turkish businessman, former national swimmer and sports executive . He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Kentucky where he captained the swimming team and was twice named Most Valuable Athlete and later captained Türkiye's national swimming team in 1984–85, breaking national records in the 50 m freestyle.
He founded Saran Holding, which includes media outlets like S Sport, Radyospor, Radyo Music, Radyo Traffic, Ajansspor and the betting platform tuttur.com. Under his leadership, the group secured major sports broadcasting rights—including Ligue 1 for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
A long‑time figure in Fenerbahce S.K. (member no. 9945), Saran served as an executive on the football board under Aziz Yıldırım but later sued the club over an unlawful dismissal, winning a seven‑year court case. He remains an influential member of the club’s High Council.
