Razgatlioglu finishes 19th in Spain after long-lap penalty

The fourth round of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship, the Spanish Grand Prix, was held at the 4.4-kilometer (2.7-mile) Jerez Angel Nieto Circuit in Jerez de la Frontera over 25 laps.

BK8 Gresini's Alex Marquez took victory with a time of 40 minutes, 48.861 seconds, claiming his first win of the season.

Aprilia Racing's Marco Bezzecchi, who had won the first three rounds of the season, finished second, 1.903 seconds behind the leader. Pertamina Enduro VR46's Fabio Di Giannantonio placed third, 5.796 seconds off the pace.

Prima Pramac Yamaha's Toprak Razgatlioglu, the first Turkish rider in MotoGP and a three-time World Superbike champion, served a long-lap penalty during the race and rejoined in 21st place.

He crossed the line 19th, 44.557 seconds behind Marquez, ending the weekend without points. Teammate Jack Miller finished 18th.

Ducati Lenovo's Marc Marquez retired from the race following a crash on the second lap.

Championship standings after round 4:

  1. Marco Bezzecchi (Italy) — 101 points
  2. Jorge Martin (Spain) — 90 points
  3. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Italy) — 71 points
  4. Pedro Acosta (Spain) — 66 points
  5. Marc Marquez (Spain) — 57 points

The 2026 season continues with the French Grand Prix on May 10.
