Real Madrid’s new head coach Xabi Alonso has made his decision regarding the future of Turkish international Arda Guler at the club. Alonso, who took over following Carlo Ancelotti’s departure, announced his plans during a press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup opener against Al Hilal.
The match, set for 10 p.m. (GMT +3), marks Alonso’s first official game in charge of the Spanish giants.
Speaking to the media, the 43-year-old club legend expressed confidence in the young midfielder, stating, “Arda Guler and Endrick will get more playing time this season.”
Alonso emphasized the importance of adaptation for young players at the club: “Everyone at Real Madrid helps each other. Adapting to the club is part of the process. This season, they will start receiving more minutes, and other players will support them during this period. Even the Castilla players contribute to this development.”
Last season, Arda Guler featured in 43 matches across all competitions, logging 1,775 minutes. He scored five goals and provided nine assists, highlighting his growing importance to the team. His current market value is estimated at €45 million ($51.78 million).
