Fenerbahce has completed the signing of 16-year-old Senegalese winger Amara Diouf, marking the club’s first transfer of the season.
The young talent arrived in Istanbul on Saturday ahead of the official signing, which is expected to take place shortly, according to Turkish sports journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
Diouf had been attracting attention from major European clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea. Despite this interest, Fenerbahce managed to finalize a deal with Generation Foot, a club known for developing high-caliber Senegalese players such as Sadio Mane.
However, the Yellow Canaries have not yet officially announced Diouf’s transfer or disclosed further details regarding the agreement.
Standing at 1.75 meters, Diouf primarily plays on the left wing but can also operate on the right flank or as a center forward. Known for his pace and dribbling skills, he is already seen in his home country as the potential successor to Mane.
Diouf made his senior debut for the Senegal national team at the age of 15 years and 94 days in a match against Rwanda.
He rose to further prominence during the 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations, where he finished as the tournament’s top scorer and helped Senegal claim the title.
