Spanish football club Sevilla has reportedly expressed interest in signing Turkish goalkeeper Ersin Destanoglu from Besiktas and is expected to submit its first bid during the upcoming January transfer window.
The potential transfer hinges on whether Besiktas moves to acquire another goalkeeper, according to Transfermarkt.
Destanoglu’s current contract with Besiktas is set to expire at the end of the 2025–2026 season. If Besiktas brings in a new goalkeeper in January, the 24-year-old could depart during the winter window. If no transfer is made, the player is expected to leave at the end of the season.
The report suggests Sevilla is closely monitoring the situation and has positioned itself to initiate a move once the conditions are met. The player’s market value is currently estimated at €1.8 million.
Sevilla currently has three goalkeepers in its rotation: Odysseas Vlachodimos, Alvaro Fernandez, and Orjan Nyland.
After first-choice goalkeeper Mert Gunok experienced a dip in form, Ersin Destanoglu returned to Besiktas’s starting lineup and has since made six appearances this season, drawing interest from European clubs with his performances.
Since joining Besiktas’s senior squad in 2017, Ersin Destanoglu has featured in 126 matches but has yet to earn a cap for the Turkish national team despite his growing club experience.
Sevilla’s interest in Destanoglu comes as part of a broader strategy to strengthen their goalkeeping department. The Andalusian club, a regular participant in European competitions, has seen frequent rotation and adjustments in the position in recent seasons.
