Fenerbahce Beko will head to Greece to take on Panathinaikos AKTOR in a key EuroLeague matchup, as the Turkish side looks to extend its winning streak while holding on to the top spot in Europe’s premier club basketball competition.
The game will tip off at 10:15 p.m. local time in Türkiye at the Telekom Center in Athens, where the visiting team will try to build on its recent run of strong results.
The EuroLeague, widely regarded as Europe’s highest-level professional club basketball tournament, brings together leading teams from across the continent. Fenerbahce Beko currently sits at the top of the standings, having picked up 19 wins in 26 games so far this season.
After stringing together six straight victories, the Istanbul-based side, coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius, will now look to keep that momentum going as it travels abroad for this latest fixture. The team is understood to be aiming to carry its form forward and strengthen its position in the race for playoff seeding.
Panathinaikos AKTOR, led by Türkiye national team head coach Ergin Ataman, enters the matchup in eighth place in the standings, with 16 wins against 11 losses.
The Greek club is coming off a defeat in its most recent EuroLeague outing, having fallen 78–62 away to Serbia’s Partizan. As a result, the team will be looking to regroup and turn things around on home court, where it previously managed to edge out Fenerbahce earlier this season.
When the two sides last met in Istanbul during the first half of the season, Panathinaikos came away with a narrow 81–77 victory, setting up what appears to be another closely contested encounter.
