Fenerbahce head coach Domenico Tedesco has fallen behind his two immediate predecessors in terms of points collected after 24 matches, despite overseeing the only unbeaten side in the Turkish Super Lig this season.

The Istanbul giants have drawn nine of their first 24 league fixtures in the 2025-26 campaign, a run that has left them four points adrift of leaders Galatasaray. While remaining unbeaten may appear solid on paper, the accumulation of draws has slowed the team down in the title race.

Unbeaten but dropping ground in the title race

The Super Lig, Türkiye’s top professional football division, rewards teams with three points for a win and one point for a draw. In this context, Fenerbahce’s nine draws have proven costly.

After 24 rounds, the club has collected 54 points. Although they have not lost a single league match, the dropped points have allowed Galatasaray to pull ahead. The four-point gap has reshaped the title battle, placing added scrutiny on the current technical setup.

A step back compared to recent seasons

A look back at the last three seasons over the same 24-match period shows a clear contrast.

During the 2023-24 season, Fenerbahce, under Ismail Kartal, had amassed 63 points and were sitting at the top of the table, leading Galatasaray on goal difference. That campaign set a high benchmark in terms of consistency and winning momentum.

In the following season, 2024-25, Jose Mourinho guided the team to 57 points after 24 matches, placing them second in the standings. While not leading, the points tally kept them firmly in contention.

By comparison, the current total of 54 points under Tedesco marks a decline from both previous campaigns at the same stage. The figures indicate that although the team has managed to stay unbeaten, it has not matched the pace set in recent years.

Points gap defines early narrative

The numbers underline a broader shift in performance trends. Under Kartal, Fenerbahce were ahead of their main rivals at this stage. Under Mourinho, they remained within striking distance. Under Tedesco, they now find themselves chasing.

With 24 matches completed and the title race still open, the four-point deficit has become the defining feature of the season so far.
