Turkish clubs dominate European basketball across all competitions

Turkish basketball clubs are making their presence felt at the highest levels of European competition this season, with multiple teams advancing deep into the knockout stages of five major tournaments across both men's and women's basketball.

Fenerbahce Beko leads EuroLeague standings

Fenerbahce Beko enters Week 33 of the EuroLeague, widely regarded as Europe's top-tier professional basketball competition, featuring leading clubs from across the continent competing in a long regular season before the playoffs, as the table's leader.

The Istanbul side has recorded 23 wins from 32 games this season, establishing itself as one of the strongest candidates for the Final Four. The regular season concludes on April 17 with Week 38 fixtures.

Fellow Turkish representative Anadolu Efes is currently 18th in the standings with 10 wins.

3 Turkish clubs reach EuroCup semifinals

Three Turkish clubs have advanced to the semifinals of the BKT EuroCup, guaranteeing at least 1 Turkish team in the final.

Bahcesehir Koleji finished second in Group A during the regular season before defeating Romanian side U-BT Cluj-Napoca 75-72 at home in the quarterfinals.

Besiktas GAIN topped Group B in the regular season and edged Italian club Dolomiti Energia Trento 77-76 at home to advance.

Turk Telekom, which finished fourth in Group B, defeated Spanish side BAXI Manresa 98-81 in the Round of 8 before eliminating Israeli club Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem 91-90 away, on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Kyle Allman in the closing seconds.

Galatasaray targets Basketball Champions League Final Four

Galatasaray MCT Technic is targeting a spot in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) Final Four.

The Istanbul club advanced to the quarterfinals after finishing second in Group I during the Last 16 stage, alongside Rytas Vilnius (Lithuania), Le Mans Sarthe (France) and Hapoel Netanel Holon (Israel).

Galatasaray faces Spanish club La Laguna Tenerife in the quarterfinals. A win would send the yellow-reds to the Final Four, scheduled for May 7-9 in Badalona, Spain.

Fenerbahce Opet, Galatasaray reach FIBA Women's EuroLeague Six Final

Both Fenerbahce Opet and Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring have secured spots in the FIBA Women's EuroLeague Six Final after finishing atop their respective groups in the regular season.

Fenerbahce Opet won both legs of its semifinal play-in tie against Spar Girona, 87-69 and 65-58.

Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring defeated Basket Landes 81-72 in the first leg before losing the second 75-70. The Istanbul side then won the decisive third game 67-51 to advance.

FIBA Women's EuroLeague Six Final Schedule — April 17:

  • Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring vs. Basket Landes/Casademont Zaragoza
  • Fenerbahce Opet vs. Spar Girona/Umana Reyer Venezia
  • The third-place and final matches will take place on April 19.

Cimsa CBK Mersin reaches Women's EuroCup final

Cimsa CBK Mersin has advanced to the final of the FIBA Women's EuroCup after eliminating French side BLMA in the semifinals, winning 70-68 and 86-60.

Mersin will face Athinaikos Qualco of Greece in the two-legged final.
