Turkish MotoGP rider Toprak Razgatlioglu dislocated his right shoulder in a crash at Indonesia's Mandalika circuit on Saturday, Oct. 10, but managed to put it back into place himself before returning to his Yamaha and securing 19th place in qualifying.
The Prima Pramac Racing rider suffered the injury during the second free practice session (FP2) when a highside crash, in which a motorcycle suddenly threw its rider into the air, sent him sliding violently across the track.
After getting back to his feet, Razgatlioglu appeared to be struggling with his right arm, which was hanging limply following the impact.
Rather than waiting for medical personnel to arrive, Razgatlioglu unzipped his racing suit and pushed his dislocated shoulder back into place himself.
The Turkish rider then made his way back to the pits to prepare for qualifying, although the circuit doctor required him to undergo a brief examination at the medical center before returning to the track.
Despite the crash and injury, Razgatlioglu went on to finish 19th in qualifying, placing ahead of Honda riders Johann Zarco, Diogo Moreira and Aleix Espargaro.
His return came approximately half an hour after the shoulder injury, allowing him to take part in qualifying despite an incident that had initially appeared likely to end his session.
