The Turkish women's national volleyball team has secured a spot in the 2027 Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) World Cup after defeating Germany 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the CEV Trendyol EuroVolley 2026.

By advancing to the European Championship semifinals, Türkiye guaranteed its qualification under tournament rules, which award World Cup berths to the top three finishers.

Three more teams book World Cup spots

Having advanced to the semifinals, reigning world champion Italy qualifies directly for the 2027 World Cup. The squad secured its second world title in Bangkok in 2025—its first in 23 years—following up on its 2024 Olympic gold.

Serbia and Poland, the tournament's other semifinalists, join Türkiye in taking the two remaining automatic qualification places.

Serbia enters as two-time reigning world champions, having won back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2022, along with Olympic silver in 2016 and bronze in 2020. Poland, currently ranked fourth in the world, reached the Olympic quarterfinals in Paris in 2024.

Back to North America after 53 years

The tournament will be held in the United States and Canada from Aug. 20 to Sep. 5, 2027, marking the first World Cup to be hosted in North America since 1974 and only the second edition ever to be co-hosted by two nations.

It will also be the first tournament to be held under the "World Cup" name, following the competition's rebranding from its previous title, the World Championship.
